Abstract

|
Uretral injury is one of the most common iatrogenic complication which happens during laparoscopic or open pelvic surgery. Short segmental strictures with incomplete obstruction can be easily managed by ureteroscopic dilation or ureteroureterostomy. However, reconstructive surgery ia a treatment of choice in patients with long segmentalstricture with complete obstruction. Two staged endoscopic surgery was performed to 52 year-old female patient with 5cm long segmental ureteral stricture with near complete obstructiondue to chemo-radiotherapy after laparoscopic hysterectomy in treating cervical cancer.Ureterscopic laser ablation and ureteral dilation using open end catheter under guidance of retrograde pyeloureterography can be one of the choice in treating long segmental ureteral stricture.
